寂寞 . 好了

她開口，想要說些甚麼。

室友回家鄉去了，走得有些倉促，沒帶上門前還手忙腳亂地，硬把優雅的紅藍格子紋洋傘塞進撐得挺 勉強的背包里。背包脹鼓鼓的，仿佛再過下一秒就要給撐開來。她轉過頭去斜睨室友那狼藉不堪的床，想起室友在梳馬尾時一個不小心把沒鏈好的鉛筆盒給踫倒在床 上，七零八亂的文具在頃刻間散落一床。耳邊蕩起室友高分貝的刺耳叫聲：啊來不及了來不及了。正想倏爾一股怨憤悄悄爬上她心頭，像藤本植物。室友每隔兩個星 期就要回家一趟，好幾個週末，就這樣甩甩頭撇下她，傻愣愣地呆在房里，在靜悄悄的房子里，被寂寞一小口一小口所吞噬，連根毛發也沒留下。

她的口還是張，想要說些甚麼。

或許有甚麼人可以陪她聊聊天解解悶吧。她伸手從抽屜里掏出自早上起就沒吭過一聲的手提電話，一 按進入通訊錄里，逐一逐一找可以說說話的名字。名單已經被她看過一圈了，她訝異地發現有些名字的臉孔如拼圖般缺了某個角，又或者被誰做過噴霧處理，迷蒙蒙 地看不清楚。記憶原來如此衰弱及不堪，尤其在冷漠的時間面前。驀然起了股沖動想搖個電話回家，奈何一想起媽媽的喋喋不休，哎，可夠煩。她不自覺地縮起瘦削 的肩，眉毛往上挑了一下。還是算了。
她的口依然開，想要說些甚麼。

一只壁虎打她眼前晃過，一瞬間，待她回過神，壁虎土灰土灰的尾巴消失在床與牆之間的縫隙里。於是她移過身子手腳地地蹲在地上，頭緊靠冰涼的洋灰地，雙眼搜尋壁虎的痕跡。床底下黑嚕嚕的，她吃力地眯起雙眼用力望，連個屁都沒看到。哎，找壁虎幹啥？壁虎可以陪我說話不成？她失笑，眼角里有點點淚光。拍了拍手掌心，她緩緩地站起身來。
她的口仍然啟，唾液眼看快從嘴角淌下。

好悶，這樣的一個星期六。

她落寞地把微微發酸的口合上。寂寞，也許真的可以殺死一只貓。

在恋爱方面，关于恋爱对象，男生普遍上存在一些误区，这只能用一句话来概括：妞，不是想泡就能泡的。

　　我有一位大学同学，因为自身条件很不好，所以他就去泡全校最丑的一位女生，结果泡了大半年也没泡到，遭到对方n次地拒绝，并被很多人嗤之以鼻。后来在我的提醒下，他把他那锲而不舍的精神用来追求一位“千人瞩目”的“系花”，结果一个月之后就搞定。

　　我想说的是，有些长相一般的女人对自己太不自信，从而导致了爱情良知的缺失，她们总不相信这个世界上真的会有男人来主动追求地她们，即便是有了，她们也会毫无理由的将姿态放得很高很高，努力想要获得比那些美女更多的荣耀和自尊。

　　我觉得这么做，很容易让她们患上心理上与智力上的双重疾病——这就是导致丑女难泡的心理因素与智力因素。

　　二、总以为处女都是纯洁的

　　

　　世上只有一半的处女能够保持肉体和精神上的双处女，而剩下那另一半的处女也就有一层光鲜的处女膜，在精神上，她们比非处还要非处。

　　有些处女结婚前谈了很多次恋爱，跟很多人都睡过觉，五花八门的性游戏全都见识过了，每当男人想要捅破她的下半身，她就大喊“暂停”。如果有谁将她作为婚姻的筹码那将是可笑的。

　　三、总以为送上门的都是烂货

　　

　　有很多人总是以为一些送上门来让自己白玩的女人都是别人玩剩下来的烂货，其实这是男人们对女人们的最大误会。今天我想说的是：那些真正的垃圾女人是绝对不会送上门来让你白玩的!她们对男人会百般刁难，提出种种借口与条件逃避一次又一次的牵手、亲吻和性爱。

　　无论是送上门的女人还是我们自己辛苦寻得的女人，她们都是平等的，都值得我们用心去爱。

　　四、总以为有钱就能通吃

　　

　　前天晚上我在酒吧买醉，跟朋友喝了几瓶洋酒，与身边的一位陪酒女郎玩了很多猜拳游戏，于是她跟我就似乎有了“感情”。

　　我心里明白，这样的女人全部可以用金钱来换取，所以我觉得她们并不珍贵。世上凡是可以用货币来购买的商品都算不上珍贵。世上有很多女人都不吃金钱这一套，真正有本事的男人找的都是这样的女人。有很多男人动不动就鄙视某女人财迷心窍，那其实清楚地说明了他本人的无能。

　　古人视金钱如粪土，我认为他们是在说慌。只有当女人爱上男人的时候，金钱才真正地成了粪土。

　　五、总以为长得帅就有魅力

　　

　　即便我本人长得不算难看，我还是要这么说。所谓的帅哥之所以到最后总没有好的下场，是因为他们一开始就动用了自己的色相。女人，在长大之后，她们总会选择有内涵的男人，而不是一个弱不禁风的软腿帅哥。

　　漂亮女人，无论被多少人玷污过，依然谁都想要;漂亮男人，被人玩到最后，肚子大了，谁都不想要。男人长得帅绝对没有错，只要你不将它当做武器或资本，因为感情不是以帅作为衡量尺度的。

McCurry vs McDonald's

With my outdated news, I just realized this interesting news from my friend today. It is all about about an eight year legal battle in between McCurry and McDonald. Sounds interesting !! =)

and I have quoted a summary from one of the website :
McCurry restaurant is one of the local (Malaysia) fast food restaurant. 5 years ago, McDonald took legal against McCurry because of the prefix "Mc". 5 years later (Monday - 27th April 2009), McCurry won the case against McDonald after appealing. The news became world wide news on 29th and 30th April 2009.

FYI, the news is around the world!!
Should we say Malaysia Boleh? Or Malaysia Only Boleh in this kind of thing ?

PUTRAJAYA: Fast food chain McDonald’s Wednesday lost its exclusivity to the use of the prefix “Mc” when the Court of Appeal here allowed a local Indian food outlet, McCurry Restaurant, to use “Mc” in its business signage.

Appeal Court judges Datuk Gopal Sri Ram (now Federal Court judge), who sat with Justices Datuk Heliliah Mohd Yusof and Datuk Sulong Matjeraie, held that there was no evidence to show that McCurry Restaurant of Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur, was passing off McDonald’s business as its own.

“Where the learned judge, with respect, erred is to assume that McDonald’s had a monopoly in the use of the prefix ‘Mc’ on a signage or in the conduct of business.

“In my judgment, the irresistible inference to be drawn from the totality of the evidence is that McCurry’s Restaurant signboard would not result in reasonable persons associating McCurry with the McDonald’s mark.

“For the reasons given, I would allow McCurry Restaurant’s appeal and reverse the findings of the learned judge,” said Sri Ram in his 18-page written judgement.

He said the fact that McCurry Restaurant chose the name “McCurry,” could not, by itself, lead to the inference that it sought to obtain an unfair advantage from the usage of the prefix “Mc.”

“You have to look at the plaintiff’s (McDonald’s) getup or logo as a whole ... it consists of a distinctive golden arched ‘M’ with the word, McDonald’s, against a red background.

“The defendant’s (McCurry) signboard carried the words ‘Restoran McCurry’ with the lettering in white and grey on a red background with a picture of a chicken giving a double thumbsup and with the wording, ‘Malaysian Chicken Curry.’

“Thus, the defendant’s presentation of its business is in a style and getup which is distinctly different from that of the plaintiff,” said Sri Ram, adding that none of the food items on the menu card served at McCurry Restaurant carried the prefix ‘Mc’ unlike the items of food available at McDonald’s.

“It would have been different if McCurry Restaurant had offered to its customers, items that were labelled either the same as or similar to those sold by McDonald’s, for example McFish or McLamb,” he said.

Sri Ram also said that the type of food available at a McDonald’s outlet was very different as it served fast food whereas McCurry catered only typically Indian food.

“There is evidence to show that the type of customers who patronise the defendant’s outlet is very different from those who patronise the plaintiff’s several outlets,” he said, adding that the former was patronised by adults and senior citizens while the latter was mainly by children.

On Sept 7, 2006, the High Court held that the McDonald’s fast food chain, a household name among children, had the exclusive right to the prefix “Mc” and ordered McCurry Restaurant (KL) Sdn Bhd to pay damages to McDonald’s Corporation, the proprietor of the McDonald’s chain of restaurants.

In her ruling, Justice Siti Mariah Ahmad said by using the words “McCurry” and employing a signage which featured colours that were distinctive of McDonald’s, McCurry Restaurant was indulging in acts that could give rise to confusion and deception.

McDonald’s, in its statement of claim, said it created the prefix “Mc” as a trademark and that with the usage of the prefix “Mc,” together with the word “Curry,” McCurry Restaurant, which was formerly known as Restoran Penang Curry House (KL) Sdn Bhd, had misrepresented itself as being associated with McDonald’s business.

McCurry Restaurant, in its defence, contended that McDonald’s could not claim monopoly or exclusive rights to the use of the prefix “Mc,” as that prefix was extensively used around the world as surnames, particularly by people of Scottish origin.

McCurry Restaurant said the menu was essentially Malaysian and Indian cuisine consisting of teh tarik, roti canai, nasi lemak, nasi briyani, fish head curry, chicken tandorri, naan bread, tosai, chappati and various chicken and mutton curry dishes, which were totally different from those available in McDonald’s restaurants which comprise food typically found in western food restaurants such as burgers and french fries.

McDonald’s was represented by counsel S.F. Wong while counsel Sri Dev Nair appeared for McCurry. -- Bernama

意外 “收获“

昨天回了一趟UPM
想说一天内就搞完Thesis hardbound
这里的搞完意思是 " 做hardcover + 交去office + 去找一些想见的coursemate 一次过见完" =)

没想到说去到复印店里
那位平时看上去老老实实， 面带笑容，和蔼可亲， 样貌娇好(个人认为) 的女人
竟然是个无良商人
如果想一天之内做好竟然要加钱！！！
这摆明就是坐地起价 ！！！

如果你不能一天内做完，你可以说今天不可能
为何要为难学生说要加钱呢？

算了，讲起就有点气

打了两个包

昨天，考了我人生中在大学第四年第一张，也会是最后一张的 final paper : Image Processing
虽然 Open Book, 可是完全找不到答案，更别指望能在短时间内Google 那么多次，题目难更不在话下了（当我在偷瞄了四周围后，发现master student 正在很努力的抓头时，我已经知道，这个考试 ，实在是太爽了）
朋友A说 ：太有挑战性了！
朋友B说 ：Spot 的题目一题都不中。。
朋友C说 ：还好我完全没读书。。哈哈。。

而我呢？
唉。。收拾心情面对接踵而至的考试咯。。今天是另外一科， 更加刺激，也是OpenBook, Open Laptop。。Test 1 时已经领教过了。。 结果。。。全班过一半分数的，少过十人。。。

大学degree 最后一堂课

今天 中午 12pm， 对于我很多coursemate 来说，意义非凡
因为今天是他们的人生的大学生涯degree 里最后一堂课
也因为这样，大家都很‘踊跃‘ 的去 faculty 感受一下上课的滋味
可惜， 讲师却放飞机 = )

朋友 X : 人家难得好像很有感觉，很有 feel 酱来学校，你看看你老师。。。 显咯
朋友 Y : 耶，老师没有来，Come on, 拍照

结果，大家在那一间小小的课室里， 拍了将近半小时 =.=

很多 coursemate 都很感慨，
说什么， 没有机会了，不舍得， 很显，要做工了，忽然失去生活目的了

The Mines 之旅

哇， 这几个星期实在是超闷骚的，
终于耐不住，今天去了 The Mines 一趟

午餐在The Mines 新开的 Kinsahi 解决
不知道这间店是否和我无缘
我可是找了它很多轮才看到它的
其实不难找， 就在 San Francisco 旁边 , Level 1
可是就不明白为何看不到它的存在

食物方面嘛。。对我来说还好
价钱中上，选择方面还好
以我经济状况来说，只能三个月去吃一次而已 =P
( 加上食物还不至于好吃到会一个星期吃一次的程度)

就这样， 我和友人一共order 了牛肉冷面(RM 16.90) ， 泡菜冷面( RM13.90) 和一碟 salmon (RM 18.90)，共计 RM 66 (哇靠， 蛮贵下!!)

另外，唯一不满意的地方是， 你一坐下来，他们就会自动 serve 你一小碗 不懂什么东东的appetizer (RM 5) , 和 Cool Tower (RM 1 per pieces)

聪明的朋友,下次去的时候, 如果不想付这些费用, 记得Say Tak Nak 哦..
(我比较蠢, 走了看了Resit才知道)

然后, 去看了 Panas dan garang 4 (Fast and Furious 4 , 可以按个好听点的马来名吗拜托)
故事情节不错,没有冷场
不过看到半途有位uncle 因为发出太大声的鼻鼾声而技惊四座 ...

距离考试还有一周，我要回家加油了。。 加油！！

这女人是谁？

有人认识这女人是谁吗？

我想读过 Image Processing 的学生都应该不陌生

对了！！
她就是常常出现在不同的书本里
每个 Image Processing method 就会拿她的尊容来做分析的俏丽女郎

而我也很好奇
她究竟是谁？
经过我Google 了一下，发觉她还蛮出名的

她的真名叫 Lena Söderberg , 瑞典模特儿，　
而这张照片，就是在1972 年11 月为PlayBoy 杂志拍的其中一张

而她的粉刺还特地为她作了首诗呢

我又Google　了一下发现
这张照片背后原来有个好笑的故事

下面这整段故事我就不翻译了

Jamie Hutchinson in an article in the May 2001 newsletter of the IEEE professional Communications Society writes about the pictures history.

Alexander Sawchuk estimates that it was in June or July of 1973 when he, then an assistant professor of electrical engineering at the University of Southern California Signal and Image Processing Institute (SIPI), along with a graduate student and the SIPI lab manager, was hurriedly searching the lab for a good image to scan for a colleague’s conference paper. They got tired of their stock of usual test images, dull stuff dating back to television standards work in the early 1960s. They wanted something glossy to ensure good output dynamic range, and they wanted a human face. Just then, somebody happened to walk in with a recent issue of Playboy.

The engineers tore away the top third of the centerfold so they could wrap it around the drum of their Muirhead wirephoto scanner, which they had outfitted with analog-to-digital converters (one each for the red, green, and blue channels) and a Hewlett Packard 2100 minicomputer. The Muirhead had a fixed resolution of 100 lines per inch and the engineers wanted a 512 × 512 image, so they limited the scan to the top 5.12 inches of the picture, effectively cropping it at the subject’s shoulders.

An excerpt from his writing.

I think it is safe to assume that the Lena image became a standard in our “industry” for two reasons. First, the image contains a nice mixture of detail, flat regions, shading, and texture that do a good job of testing various image processing algorithms. It is a good test image! Second, the Lena image is a picture of an attractive woman. It is not surprising that the (mostly male) image processing research community gravitated toward an image that they found attractive. The Woody Allen buffs among you may be interested to know that the Lena image appeared in the movie Sleeper. Tom Huang pointed this out to me. In the scene where Allen awakes in the year 2173, he is asked to identify a number of artifacts from the past, including photographs of Joseph Stalin and Charles de Gaulle, and the issue of Playboy Magazine containing Lena.

and regarding the debate he writes:

Well, quite understandably, some members of our community are unhappy with the source of the Lena image. I am sympathetic to their argument, which states that we should not use material from any publication that is seen (by some) as being degrading to women. I must tell you, though, that within any single segment of our community (e.g., men, women, feminists), there is a complete diversity of opinion on the Lena issue. You may be surprised to know that most persons who have approached me on this issue are male. On the other hand, some informal polling on my part suggests that most males are not even aware of the origin of the Lena image! I have heard feminists argue that the image should be retired. However, I just recently corresponded with a feminist who had a different point of view. She was familiar with the Lena image, but she had not imagined that there could be any controversy. When I offered an explanation of why some persons are offended by the use of the image. she responded tartly. A watered-down version of her reply is, “There isn’t much of Lena showing in the Lena image. This political correctness stuff infuriates me!”

一小时的反思

今晚， 你 熄灯一小时了吗？

有位朋友对我说

没关系，　各位可以聚集几位好朋友一起看电影。。。。

还是各位只是纯粹凑个热闹？

有多少人在这一小时的热情后恢复冷淡
直到明年今日

可是却开着全家的冷气机，一家大小待在电视前看电影？

又有多少人趁着各大商场关灯一小时的短短时间内趁火打劫？

我不敢想象

想令全球有醒觉的心

Watchmen 2009

昨天, 在临时抱佛脚的情况之下赶完了应该赶的东西( 赶完了? 暂时告一段落吧...)

然后跑去看了 Watchmen

这不是一套烂戏，绝对不是
只是两小时半里缺乏高潮，
让人有"哇, 还没end 啊?" 的感觉

最喜欢的还是那个Rorshach
整套戏最有个人风格的就数他了

总的来说
看完Watchmen,
觉得还好，有点郁闷，少了一份满足感

背叛

所谓的恒心，诚意
换来的只是一场背叛游戏
和虚假的眼泪

最熟悉的陌生人

分手后不可以做朋友 ，因为彼此伤害过
不可以做敌人， 因为彼此深爱过
所以变成了最熟悉的陌生人

纪念着我
在这里建立新天地

今天应该是赶着我的毕业论文的
因为沮丧的关系，无无聊聊的跑来了这里
再揾吉的开了一个属于自己的角落
无他，就想宣泄一些不满的心情
